Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Metropolitan Police Service (MPS)'s handling of my FOI request 'Operation Pyramus'.
May I draw your attention to the fact that this exemption cannot be applied to a historical record, a description which I believe applies to the information I requested.
I note that you neither confirm nor deny whether you hold this information because to do so would result in prejudice to law enforcement activities. I would like to request that you review this assessment on the following grounds.
The investigation was completed in the late 1990s and has led to the conviction of the former police officer.
It is in the public interest for the conduct and integrity of a (former) corrupt police officer to be in the public domain.
I note that you neither confirm nor deny whether you hold this information on that grounds that to do so would result in the release of personal information — but that you have not conducted a public interest test on this decision.
Therefore I am asking you to review the handling of my request and to provide details of any public interest test that was conducted on the decision to neither confirm nor deny.
Please publish the document but redact any names of the persons that have not been mentioned in the public domain.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/o...
Yours faithfully,
Saifur Rahman
