Ombudsmen - England

The request was successful.

Dear Local Government Ombudsmen,

In the three and a half years between his appointment in November 2001 and May 2005 did Mr Tony Redmond visit the following (or close equivalents) in England? 1) the Energy Ombudsman 2) the Water Ombudsman 3) the Banking Ombudsman 4) the Public Transport Ombudsman 5) the Financial Services Industry Complaints Ombudsman. If so, on what approximate dates?

Yours faithfully,

Robin Ford

Here is the answer.

"Dear Mr Ford

Request for information

In your email of 17 July you ask whether Tony Redmond visited certain English Ombudsmen in the time between his appointment in November 2001 and May 2005.

Set out below is a list of the Ombudsmen Mr Redmond has met with since he was appointed.

Water Ombudsman

Energy Ombudsman

Surveyors Ombudsman

Financial Ombudsman Service

Telecoms Ombudsman

Waterways Ombudsman

Furniture Ombudsman

Estate Agents Ombudsman

Funeral Services Ombudsman

I am afraid we do not hold the dates for these meetings."

Hmmmm. In nine years he has visited a grand total of nine Ombudsmen in England. So, not very keen on visiting Ombudsmen then. But he was very keen indeed to have the taxpayer foot the bill for him to visit Ombudsmen in Australia with his wife. Wonder why!

These are the ones he visited, purportedly, in two weeks in Australia.

The Public Sector Ombudsman and Deputy Ombudsman for Victoria State

The Energy and Water Ombudsman (and her Conciliation Team Co-ordinator) for Victoria State

The Banking Ombudsman for Australia

The Public Transport Ombudsman

The Financial Industry Complaints Services Ombudsman

The Deputy Ombudsman and Assistant Ombudsman for New South Wales

The Local Ombudsman for the City of Perth

The State Ombudsman for Western Australia (and members of her senior staff)

I wonder if he took his wife with him when he visited the English Ombudsmen as he did on his foreign jaunts?
