Please note the term 'maternal collapse is too vague for clinical coding
to provide codes, the requester will need to be more specific about the
exact conditions they wish to for us to look for.

Instead we have provided for the question Total maternal collapses /
cardiac arrests the number of inpatient spells where the patient had a
diagnosis code of I46 (Cardia Arrest - code supplied by clinical coding)
and had a specialty of Obstetrics.

This completes the Trust’s response to your request.

As part of our on-going evaluation, we ask that you complete a
satisfaction survey found at the link below. This helps us to identify
areas of improvement and to highlight good practice to share with other

Dear [email address],
Thank you for the results you have sent. I see you record data in financial rather than calendar years - I had deliberately delayed this request until mid-March to allow completion of the 2022 figures. Could I therefore kindly ask you to send me the 2022-23 figures in a couple of weeks, when they are completed.
Also you have listed <10 for several items. I do not understand how telling me that the Trust had 3 or 4 or 6 neonatal deaths in a given year, will provide any identifiable information. Some Trusts respond with <5 but this is the only response I have seen with <10. If you are unable to give raw numbers could you instead give by your still birth and neonatal death rates for each of the 5 years?
Many thanks

Yours sincerely,

Ros Jones

Dear Paul [email address],
Many thanks for the additional data from 2022/23.
Apologies for asking one more thing, but given some of the still birth and neonatal deaths are simply reported as <10, is it possible instead of raw data to have the still birth rates per 1000 total births and neonatal death rates per 1000 live births for each of the relevant years? This would be extremely helpful for looking at trends and I assume is readily available data for you.
Many thanks,

Yours ,

Ros Jones

I will go back to my colleagues who provided the data to see if this can

I will need to request an extension to the deadline date to allow them

Dear [email address],

Your last reply on 02/06/2023 states that you have the information I have requested but then says that this concludes your response to my request.
I am still asking for the stillbrith rates per 1000 total births and the neonatal death rates per 1000 live births.
I have found the data for the years 2018, 2020, and 2021 on the MBRACE website but I still need the data for 2019 and 2022 which should be readily available from your maternity dataset.
Thankyou for providing this.

Yours sincerely,

Ros Jones
