Oaths

The request was partially successful.

Dear Ministry of Justice,

Do all judges take a Oath of allegiance and a judicial Oath before they can sit as judges and where can these oaths be witnessed.

Do these oaths apply to all levels of the judiciary including magistrates, justice of the peace and deputy district judges at county court.

Please list any judges that are not required to be sitting under their oath when sitting in a court or tribunal and if the same applies for EU law especially in bankruptcy and personal insolvency that are not required to be heard in a court as is the case under National Law.

Are deputy district judges at county level brought in specially for these EU bankruptcy proceeding and are they sitting under their Oaths and what is the age that they must retire under these civil proceedings.

How can a member of the public check that a judge or any member of the judiciary have taken their oaths and that they are still valid when they are acting under them whilst sitting.
