Number of school pupils giving up Music tuition due to doubling of the costs to Parents

The request was successful.

Dear Clackmannanshire Council,
What are the exact number of school pupils giving up Music tuition due to doubling of the costs to Parents ie since that decision was made and implement. From parents and schools I have spoken with at least 70% of pupils have had to give up music tuition. Further what impact has that had on the income generated from these reduced numbers of pupils taking tuition compared with the income generated before the increase in fees? Is it the case that now there is less income generated now compared to before the increase in fees meaning that there is actually no saving to the council? - so the net result is no financial saving and 70% less pupils receiving the benefit of music tuition!

Yours faithfully,

Janice Bernard

Eileen McKinsley, Clackmannanshire Council
