Dear Jamie Dixon,
21/384: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST
Thank you for your email dated 15/09/2021 requesting information under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000. In that request, you asked us for the
number of street works and road works carried out by the council for both
the 2019/20 and 2020/21 financial years.
I require further information in order to identify and locate the
information that you have asked for. I will not be able to take this
matter further until you can clarify exactly what information you require.
In particular it would be useful to know what you define as road works.
Are you solely requesting works undertaken by the Highways department on
things such as potholes, or are you requesting all types of work on the
carriageway including consultancy completed works etc? If no response is
received within two months the request will be considered closed.
If you have any queries about this letter or are unhappy about the service
you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint

request for an internal review should be made within 40 working days of
the date of the response.

All the best,

Many thanks for your reply. I have been asked to obtain some additional

closed.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your response, could I please just receive the figures for works on public highways?
All the best,
Jamie
Dear Jamie Dixon,
21/384: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST
Thank you for your email dated 15/09/2021 and subsequent clarification
requesting information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I am
now in a position to respond to your questions as follows:
Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the number
of street works and road works carried out by the council for both the
2019/20 and 2020/21 financial years.
Figures for our Highway operatives carrying out works on the carriageway:
2019/20 = 2702 works orders completed
2020/21 = 2318 works orders completed
Figures for Highway Drainage works on the carriageway:
2019/20 = 28
2010/21 = 33
With regards to street works, these relate to utility works carried out in
the area not works carried out by the Council as specified in your
request.
If possible, I would also like to know the longest-running works that took
place in both of these periods.
We are unable to provide the longest running works completed by Highways
operatives and drainage works as we do not record that information in
these instances.
Regarding consultancy projects, the longest running works were:
Year 2019-20 – Edlogan Way active travel – footway works
Year 2020-21 – Woodland Road Safe Routes in the Community
