Number of Officers Investigating Fraud & Economic Crime

The request was partially successful.

Dear Kent Police,

I would be grateful if you could confirm how many police officers and police staff you have employed dedicated to investigating fraud and other economic crime please? e.g. in a Fraud Squad and Financial Investigation Unit?

Please also indicate where you have officers/staff seconded to other national/regional units who are dedicated to investigating fraud and other economic crime. Where this is the case, indicate whether these numbers are in addition to those requested in my first question. question.

Yours faithfully,

David K.

The Serious Economic Crime Unit (SECU) in Kent Police is made up of 3 separate teams; fraud
Investigation, Money Laundering and Financial Investigation. As at 30 April 2016, there are
14 Kent police officers and 18 Kent police staff working in these teams. In addition, 1 Essex police
officer and 1 Essex police staff work in SECU; these belong to Essex Police but are jointly paid for
by Kent Police to complete duties in both counties.
