Number of GP within 4hours calls attended within 4 hours, remote areas, Cowal

Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dr Robert S. Coull

Dear Scottish Ambulance Service,

Please could you supply me with the following information:

The number of GP ‘within 4 hour’ ambulance requests attended within 4 hours of the call being received over the last four years for the following remote areas:

Strachur, postcodes beginning PA27 8
St Catherines, postcodes beginning PA25 8
Cairndow, postcodes beginning PA26 8
Tighnabruaich, postcodes beginning PA21 2
Lochgoilhead, postcodes beginning PA24 8

The average time to arrival and the longest times to arrival for the same data stack.

The public interest in this request is a perception that within 4 hour ambulances to remote areas in Cowal, Argyll, do not arrive within 4 hours, anecdotally can take six or more hours to arrive. Also, the request was prompted by a critical incident in which a patient waited more than 4 hours to be collected.

Yours faithfully,

Dr Robert S. Coull

HANNAN, Mark (SCOTTISH AMBULANCE SERVICE), Scottish Ambulance Service

Good afternoon Dr Coull,

I write with regard to your request for a review into the Scottish Ambulance Service's handling of your FOI request relating to the number 4 hour calls attended within 4 hours.

You complained that we had failed to respond to you within the 20 working day period. I have completed my review and concluded that we did, as you suggest, fail to respond to you within the time period required. I apologise for this.

The department were extremely busy dealing with a large volume of FOI responses from a variety of people over that period but this is offered as an explanation not an excuse - we did fail to respond to you in the correct time period and for that I am very sorry.

I understand that you have now received the information you requested.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Apologies once again,
Mark
