Dear Ms Wheeler,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000

Thank you for your email of 25^th June 2020 requesting information about
number of furloughed staff.

We have received your request for information. The Council is facing
unprecedented pressure on services due to the Coronavirus. The Information
Commissioner has made a statement on this matter and understands that
Councils may have to prioritise other more critical services. It would be
very much appreciated if you could withdraw your request if it is not
urgent, and re-submit it at a later date when the pandemic is over. If you
wish to continue with your request, please be aware that we cannot
guarantee a response to your request within the normal timeframes.

Thank you for your patience.

Yours sincerely,

Baljeet Kaur

Information Governance Assistant

From today until further notice we will only be able to receive electronic

Dear Baljeet,

Please progress with my request, I do not intend to withdraw it. If your own DPO is making this same request to other public authorities during the pandemic lockdown it clearly sets a precedent for this information being in the public interest and the necessity of the request being proportionate to the potential impact on resources.

Yours sincerely,

Sharon Wheeler

Dear Ms Wheeler

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000

I’m just writing to apologise again for the delay in responding to your
request for information. Leicester’s extended COVID-19 lockdown has meant
that hundreds of staff have had to be redeployed to other roles in order
to  prioritise critical services, and to mobilise mass testing in the
community.

I hope to have the information for you as soon as I can. Thank you again
for your patience.
