number of dogs seized/destroyed/released/indexed under s1 and s4 of DDA in 2008
Dear Sir or Madam,
I would be very grateful if you could give me information relating to the following questions:
1. How many dogs were seized during 2008 in the UK under sections 1 and 4 of the dangerous dogs act?
2. Of those dogs seized during 2008 in the UK, how many were:
a) destroyed
b) added to the index of exempt dogs
c) proven 'innocent' and returned to their owners without needing to be added to the index of exempt dogs
3. If statistics are not available for the UK as a whole, could you please provide information for as many different areas where that information (requested in questions 1 and 2) is available as is possible.
Yours faithfully,
Pru Elliott
