Non traditional housing lists
Dear Highland Council,
I’m currently in the process of compiling local authority information of addresses where non-traditional methods have been used.
Several mass building projects for local authority houses were constructed using prefabricated or in-situ techniques such as concrete or steel and often had trade names such as Reema, Wates, Cornish etc. These are both pre and post war. Some of these types were subject to further investigation under the Housing Act 1985.
I would be grateful if you could forward and information you hold of information relating to such dwellings in your local authority. Even if the information is limited it would be of great use. Some local authorities have provided lists showing the road, number and type to assist with identification.
Yours faithfully,
Steven Lees, BSc(Hons), MRICS

Dear Chris Kerr,
Many thanks for sending the link over. I have made requests to most councils in Scotland who have provided lists in the form of spread sheets to identify the roads that the various dwellings can be found. If you have this information you possibly forward it on?
Many thanks,
Steven Lees
Dear Steven Lees,
Thanks for your email, I have attached to this email the spreadsheet which
identifies the roads that the various dwelling can be found.
Kind Regards
Chris Kerr
Afternoon Chris,
The spread sheet lists the home improvements and not the streets. I won't save it as I'm not sure about the data and whether I should see it.
Could you send the streets?
Yours sincerely,
Steven
