Non s41 schools, the public purse and CFA 2014

Medway Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Medway Council,

1. How many non s.41 (not approved by the Secretary of State for education)schools does Medway Council use for special needs children paid for by the public purse ?

2.The Children’s and Families Act part 3 , does not apply to children in non s41 schools. What does Medway council do to ensure that both the child and the parent are aware of this loss of rights under the Children and families act 2014?

3.What are the local authorities obligations to children placed in non s41 schools?

4. How does Medway council regulate / check these schools? Under which legislation?

5. Do you regulate the financial charges made by non s41 ?schools, as public money is being used , under which legislation?

6. What checks are made by Medway council on staffing qualifications and criminal records checks?
