The brief for the latest Nightingale Lane traffic management scheme
constructed in 2012 to 13 was to maintain accidents at the same low level.
A yearly accident analysis showing the 3 years pre and post construction
is attached and the committee report 14-495 details the post construction
review can be found [1]here.

Wandsworth Request for Information - 2017/16060 - Follow up query re:
Nightingale Lane

I refer to your request for information received on 07/12/2017. Please
find our response below.

Your request:

Thank you for the prompt response to my previous FOI regarding Nightingale
Lane:

[1]https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

Casualty statistics taken in isolation do not give a whole picture.

Without monitoring levels of foot traffic, cycle traffic, motor traffic
etc., then we have no way to identify if the casualty stats are an
improvement or not based on the numbers of people moving through the area.
Indeed if walking and cycling levels have dropped then arguably the scheme
will have failed in its goals to create a safer environment.

Please share the traffic monitoring data of different road users including
pedestrians and people using cycles to monitor the effectiveness of the
scheme. When combined with the previous response this will give us a good
guidance as to how effective the Nightingale Road intervention has been.

 Our response:

The post implementation report, and post and pre construction RTA’s were
provided in the response to your original request (2017/16028).  No
further data was gathered or investigations undertaken as part of the
Nightingale Lane scheme.
