Thank you for your request made on 19 May 2021 under the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOI(S)A) for:
1) The management structure of your diabetes managed clinical network, its
responsibilities and plans for supporting patient care for 2021.
2) a list of all MCN members and their roles within the MCN
NHS Fife has completed our search for information held in relation to your
request and can provide the following response.
1) The management structure of your diabetes managed clinical network, its
responsibilities and plans for supporting patient care for 2021.

Current structure:- MCN Manager/MCN Administrator>Service Manager
(interim)>Divisional General Manager (West). The MCNs are in the process
of remobilising following being paused due to COVID in March 2020 & the
management structure is under review therefore is subject to change in the
future.
MCN responsibilities: to link people across boundaries to improve services
for the people using them, by enabling a multi-disciplinary network of
service providers and users to come together to work through identified
priorities to improve patient care and service provision.
Plans for 2021: remobilisation of the MCN with priorities in line with the
national improvement plan priorities including: review of local
guidelines, protocols, pathways & SOPs, ensuring accessibility; improving
access to information & resources, & supporting services in their
remobilisation.

2) a list of all MCN members and their roles within the MCN

Due to remobilisation, membership has not been confirmed. Prior to COVID
membership included representation from the following areas/groups:-
MCN Manager, MCN administrator, secondary care clinician, secondary care
diabetes specialist nurse, diabetes paediatric/transition service,
dietitian, community diabetes specialist nurse, podiatrist, diabetic eye
screening service, laboratory, research & development, GP, practice nurse,
pharmacy service, patient representative, public health.
