Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence,

I have just seen this advert http://www.evidence.nhs.uk/aboutus/Docum... which stats the following:

- More than 700,000 unique visitors each month
- 1.3 million searches performed each month

Are all the unique visitors and searches coming to the NHS Evidence domain? As I understand it these figures include figures from other domains.

For instance do those figures include usage figures for the specialist collections and CKS? If it does can you provide separate figures for:

- NHS Evidence
- Specialist collections
- CKS

Yours faithfully,

J Brassey

It might be useful to know the usage on the Athens protected resources on the http://www.library.nhs.uk url as well.

The former National Library for Health which was integrated into NHS Evidence quoted usage of around 1,000,000 hits a month with many of the established NHS Evidence resources so it would be useful to see a comparison between the two services.

Dear Mr Brassey

Reference No: EH08710

Thank you for your request for information, received at this office on 28
March 2011, in which you requested details of:

. the breakdown of figures for unique visitors (more than 700,000)
and searches (1.3 million) for NHS Evidence as stated in the leaflet `NHS
Evidence is changing'.

In response to your question, the figures quoted in the leaflet do include
usage figures for specialist collections and Clinical Knowledge Summaries
(CKS). This is because NHS Evidence was responsible for providing these
services at the time the data was collated for the leaflet. The breakdown
of unique visitor numbers was as follows:

NHS Evidence Unique Visitor Numbers
NHS Evidence Search 107,672
Health Information Resources (total including 246,492
specialist collections)
CKS 368,395
Total 722,559

The breakdown of search queries performed was as follows:

NHS Evidence Search Queries Performed
NHS Evidence Search 384,661
Health Information Resources (total including 736,290
specialist collections
CKS 168,214
Total 1,289,165*

*The search queries performed figure was rounded up for the purposes of
the leaflet.

As you are aware the services NHS Evidence provides are changing as part
of the launch of NHS Evidence Version 4. Both the specialist collections
service and Clinical Knowledge Summaries service closed at the end of
March 2011.

I trust the above response answers your original question. However, if you
are unhappy with this response and wish to make a formal complaint it must
be made in writing by letter, fax or email within 20 working days of the
Institute's response to you and sent to:
