Dear Lothian NHS Board,
The future of the Comprehensive Care Centre for the treatment of Haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne is currently unclear. If the Centre closed the Comprehensive Care Centre at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, being the second closest Comprehensive Care Centre, may find a demand for registrations from patients, particularly those in Northumberland.
What contact, if any, have you had from Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust in relation to the management of Haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders during 2020 and any potential for increased demand for the Edinburgh Haemophilia and Thrombosis Comprehensive Care Centre at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary?
