New trains on Gospel Oak to Barking line

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Transport for London should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Transport for London,
I would like the following information regarding the Gospel Oak to Barking line on London Overground:
1 By which date do you expect the class 710 Aventras to be in passenger service?
2 If not for the late delivery, software problems and delayed electrification, when would they have started passenger service?
3 Can you provide the audio announcements of class 172, class 378 and class 710 (if ready) on this line?
4 The timetable for when the new trains are ready
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

Yours faithfully,

Sarah Gross

Dear FOI,
ref: FOI-0537-1920/GH
Thank you for acknowledging my request. Question 1 is no longer relevant considering that the new trains have already started service but I would still like answers to my other questions, including question 4 because I don't yet have the current timetable.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah

Dear FOI,
Thank you for the timetable, although it's a shame there was no timetable when the trains were running 'every 15-30 minutes'.

As for the announcements, it isn't possible that the announcements are the same for all trains on the line. There are obvious differences between the announcement on class 378 and class 710, and both are different to the announcements that class 172 had.

If I provide a postal address, it will be available to the public on whatdotheyknow.com. Can you please provide the announcements as audio files?

Yours sincerely,

Sarah

FOI, Transport for London

We did not say that the announcements are the same for all train on the line, we stated that the announcements are recorded in fragments, and that we do not hold them specifically for individual trains or sections of the line.

If you would like a CD sent to you containing all the London Overground announcements, you can contact us direct to provide your postal address by emailing us at [email address] ( FOI @ tfl.gov.uk - with no spaces )

Dear FOI,
Thank you for your reply.
Does the CD contain the announcements of:
Class 172 ("The next station is Barking, our final stop. Change here..."),
Class 378 Gospel Oak-Barking ("Change here for Walthamstow Central Station") and
Class 710 ("This is the train to Gospel Oak")?
Yours sincerely,

Sarah
