New Domestic Bin Collection Arrangements - Performance and Costs

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear South Cambridgeshire District Council,

I am interested in the performance, and costs, of the new domestic bin collection arrangements which reportedly came into operation in February 2017 in Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire.

Could you please release :

1. The number of hours worked by i/ directly employed council refuse collection staff, ii/ agency workers and iii/ council managers (those whose role isn't primarily working on refuse vehicles) on domestic refuse collection vehicles per week in April 2016 vs April 2017, where relevant broken down into standard hours and overtime. If it is easier to provide the information in terms of shifts/days or rounds then please do provide it in those terms.

2. Any regular management reports covering the operation, and costs, of the routine running of the domestic bin collection service in Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire covering April 2016, and February, March April and May 2017. In particular I am interested in the costs of any agency workers.

3. The name, job title, grade and salary bands of the three most senior Cambridge City Council council officers to have carried out rounds working on domestic refuse lorries due to a lack of usual staff since February 2017.

4. Reports and minutes/notes, from the most recent meeting, other than a public meeting of the council or a committee, between officers and i/ an executive councillor or council leader and ii/ refuse collection staff's union representatives at which the performance of the domestic bin emptying service was discussed.

Please do advise me of any way I could amend this request to make it easier for the council to respond to while providing the key comparative information sought.

I am making this request to South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council.

Regards,
