Information Request, Canal & River Trust

Dear P Smith,

Thank you for contacting the Canal & River Trust with your request for information.

1. The Navigation Advisory Group Mooring Sub Group meeting of 22nd January 2020
The Trust does not hold this information as the meeting did not go ahead and has been postponed.

2. The Navigation Advisory Group Operations meeting of 4th February 2020
These are available from the website via the following link: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/refresh/m...

Please note National Advisory Group meeting minutes are usually uploaded to our website within 2 weeks of the meeting.

The minutes of the meeting to which Matthew Symonds and Matt Aymes were invited to "discuss the situation on the western K&A in more detail", as reported in the minutes of the South West Regional Advisory Board meeting of 25th September 2019
We believe this is the the 'A Hidden Community - Understanding Liveaboard Boater inequalities' event that was organised by Julian House charity in Bath on 26 August. The notes from the meeting are not held by the Trust but will be available from Julian House.

Dear Canal & River Trust,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Canal & River Trust's handling of my FOI request 'Navigation Advisory Group meetings'. Although you have provided some of the information I requested, you are incorrect in saying that the meeting to which Matthew Symonds and Matt Aymes were invited to "discuss the situation on the western K&A in more detail", as reported in the minutes of the South West Regional Advisory Board meeting of 25th September 2019, was the event organised by Julian House entitled 'A Hidden Community - Understanding Liveaboard Boater inequalities' (and please note that this event took place on 26th September not 26th August).

Please refer to the minutes of the South West Regional Advisory Board meeting of 25th September 2019 again and please provide me with the minutes of the meeting I refer to or the date of the that meeting if it has not yet taken place.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

Thank you. I look forward to your prompt reply

Yours faithfully,

P Smith

Dear Ms Smith,

I have been appointed to carry out the internal review of the Trust’s
initial response to your request concerning the Navigation Advisory Group
meetings.

I shall respond promptly and within 20 working days of your internal
review request dated 4^th March 2020. If, for whatever reason, I am unable
to issue a response within that timeframe I shall keep you updated with
the relevant timescales and reasons for delay. I would however be grateful
if you are able to clarify at which meeting you suspect the situation on
the western K&A was discussed in more detail, or roughly when it was held,
if it has been?

If you have any queries in the meantime please do not hesitate to get in
contact.

Kind regards,

Dear Mr Halcrow,

The meeting at which the situation on the western K&A was discussed in more detail would have been held after 18th December 2019, if it has taken place. Please see your response of 18th December to my request for information about hire boat businesses online here https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/h...

Thank you. I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Ms Smith,

Further to your internal review request of 4 March and our acknowledgement
of 6 March, I have now conducted my internal investigations and can
confirm that you are indeed correct; the event organised by Julian House
entitled 'A Hidden Community - Understanding Liveaboard Boater
inequalities' was not the meeting which Matthew Symonds and Matt Aymes
were invited to "discuss the situation on the western K&A in more detail”
as referenced in the attached.

The reference in the attached was to the fact that Matthew Symonds and
Matt Aymes were to be invited to a future South West Regional Advisory
Board meeting to discuss the situation on the western K&A in more detail.
They have not yet been invited to a meeting. Once they are, the minutes
shall be published on our website in the usual manner.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request for an internal
review, then you are able to contact the Information Commissioner by
telephoning 0303 123 1113.

Kind regards,
