We are doing research into council / authority employment positions.

To this end, could we please request your assistance in obtaining the information below, for your council / authority, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:
Data request:

1. Please provide the full name of the person employed by the Council/Authority as the Returning Officer.

2. Please provide the full name(s) of any person(s) employed by the Council/Authority as Deputy Returning Officer(s)

3. Please provide full information of salaries attached to these roles.

4. Please provide details of any and all roles these people/person(s) may also be employed in by the Council/Authority.

If actual figures aren’t available, is it possible to provide estimates instead? If yes, we would be grateful if you could indicate which figures are estimated.

Format: Please send through data in whichever format is easiest for you.

Clarification: If the request is unclear, please accept my apologies and let me know what clarification is needed.

Similarly if it is not possible to provide the information requested due to it exceeding the cost of compliance limits, we would be grateful if you could advise as to how we might refine our request accordingly.

Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested.

 

1. Please provide the full name of the person employed by the
Council/Authority as the Returning Officer.

No person is employed by ACC as Returning Officer.

 

Fraser Bell, Chief Officer – Governance, is appointed as Returning
Officer.

 

2. Please provide the full name(s) of any person(s) employed by the
Council/Authority as Deputy Returning Officer(s)

No persons are employed by ACC as Deputy Returning Officer’s.

 

Deputy Returning Officers can be appointed for a fixed time for the
purposes of delivering a specific poll.  This is at the Returning
Officer’s discretion.  It is also at the Returning Officer’s discretion as
to if and how these roles attract payment. Some Returning Officer’s
distribute part or all of the Returning Officer Fee (as specified in the
Fees and Charges Order associated with a particular poll) amongst the
Deputy Returning Officers.

 

3. Please provide full information of salaries attached to these roles.

No salary attached to the role of DRO. Please see further details above.

 

4. Please provide details of any and all roles these people/person(s) may
also be employed in by the Council/Authority.
