Muslim safeguarding

Abdul Hai made this Freedom of Information request to Tower Hamlets Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

We're waiting for Abdul Hai to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Tower Hamlets Borough Council,

I have a number of questions about muslim safeguarding.

1. Since the election of John Biggs how much free training has been given to mosques and other Islamic organisations?

2. What is the criteria for the free training for example do you assess if the Islamic organisation have enough money to pay for the training commercially?

3. What are the rules on who can attend as I know someone who does not understand or speak English or work with children got free training at the mosque?

4, Since the election of Mayor Biggs can you list the Islamic organisations or groups which have got this free training?

5. Do you offer any other help for example assisting with the costs of DBS or security training which is not covered by the home office in regards to protection of children and vulnerable adults?

6. Do you have a list of Islamic organisations which do DBS checks on staff and volunteers?

Yours faithfully,

Abdul Hai
