Museum/public display
Dear Cleveland Fire Brigade,
I was wondering if there was such a thing as a museum or a place that publicly displays old Cleveland fire brigade equipment etc. I remember as a child my uncle taking me to visit grangetown fire station and we were being showed around the station and the learning and development centre and there was old uniforms and equipment and awards displayed around them. It reminded me of a museum and I was just wondering if such a thing existed.
Yours faithfully,
Garry Livingstone

Good Afternoon Gary
In answer to your request, I can confirm that due to the recent rebuilding
of our headquarters building in Hartlepool and the relocation of our
Training Centre at Grangetown, unfortunately, the old memorabilia is no
longer on display to the public. As we could no longer house the larger
items these have been donated to museums, eg. Hough Museum, Headland,
Hartlepool and the Fire Service Museum, Sheffield. The smaller items have
been retained, however, they remain in storage at the moment.
Thank you for your enquiry, and I am sorry I can’t be of more assistance
at this time.
Kind Regards
Joanne Perkins
