Monthly mobile roaming charges

Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please could you give me information on  monthly mobile roaming charges of BBC senior executives from April 2010. I would like to know which Executives these charges relate to.

I'd like to find out information on the top spenders as well as monthly average costs.

Could you also tell me which network operator is your mobile provider.

Yours sincerely

A.S Amfort

Dear FOI Enquiries,

How hard can this be? I just want the roaming charges for all of your senior executives in the period specified. The legal allowance of 20 days should have been more than sufficient!

Dear Rebecca Turner

Your interpretation of senior executives was not what I had in mind, but was a predictably narrow interpretation. One wonders why , if you were compiling stats just for the executive board, it took so long, that the BBC broke the law!
My view of Senior executives includes all senior managers from the BBC Direction Group! Specifically people like Alan Yentob and Pat Younge.
I look forwards to receiving this information.

Yours sincerely,

Arthur Amfort

Dear FOI Enquiries,

This is not a new request, if i'd have wanted just details for the executive board that's what I would have asked for. I think i'll have to refer this to the information commissioner, you've broken the law once, only to provide partial information, with no updates or requests for clarfication, then you give yourselves another 20 days to provide information that you should have provided in the first place!,! Unbelievable!!!

Yours sincerely,

Arthur Amfort

Dear Rebecca Turner
This request is now more than 40 days overdue! And looking at some of the other overdue requests on this site this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident! Would you please give full disclosure of the information requested, or I shall have to hand this matter over to the Information Commissioner

Yours sincerely,

Dear Rebecca Turner
The response you sent me on the 5th April was incomplete!
I sent the reply below on the 5th April !

"My view of Senior executives includes all senior managers from the
BBC Direction Group! Specifically people like Alan Yentob and Pat
Younge.
I look forwards to receiving this information"

Would you please provide the information requested above immediately, this is getting beyond a joke! Even if this was viewed as a new request, which it wasn't, it would be late!

Yours sincerely,

Arthur Amfort

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's atrocious handling of my FOI request 'Monthly mobile roaming charges'.

I was given incomplete information without any request for clarification, by Rebecca Turner on 5th April, even this limited information was supplied late, thus breaching the Data protection Act. I asked for a full disclosure with the paragraph following, clarifying the scope of the request "My view of Senior executives includes all senior managers from the BBC Direction Group! Specifically people like Alan Yentob and Pat Yonge! I look forwards to receiving this information". I sent this clarification on 5th of April.
It, wrongly, seems to have been treated as a separate request. So I waited until 8th May for a reply( hopelessly late as it was part of the same request) and still late even if it was treated as a separate request, thus breaking the law again.

The information sent to me on the 8th May, again from Rebecca Turner, was just a rehash of the same information sent on April 5th! Obviously nobody read my message!

I have since requested an explanation for this unacceptable treatment, plus the information requested, but have been met with a very rude! wall of silence. Reading other FOI requests on this site, I can see that I am not alone! I would like full disclosure of the information requested, and a full explanation of why the BBC could not reply within the statutory period, twice! And a full explanation as to why I have been treated in this shabby way, it's such a simple request!

Yours
Arthur Amfort

The BBC seem to be in a total muddle on handling FOI requests of late.

They also seem to have missed the fact that you have requested an internal review, instead responding as if you have 'just' sent a chaser.

Dear Stephanie Simmonds,

So I've waited three months, and I still haven't had a full-disclosure!
Incredible!!! Even more incredibly. It's patently absurd, that you could withhold Alan Yentob's roaming charges under the guise of journalism, that's just ridiculous! Seems like a clumsy attempt at obfuscation! That's going straight to the ICO! you haven't got a leg to stand on there, it's clearly In the public interest to know how our money is spent on ancillaries, I just wonder If it could possibly be an embarrassingly large number???

I have already requested an internal review, by the way, but nobody there seemed to notice! I look forward to full disclosure of Alan Yentob's true monthly expenditure, part VI of schedule 1 of FOI was not designed to prevent disclosure of information such as this! It has nothing to do with Journalism, art or literature.

Yours sincerely,

Arthur Amfort

Dear Mr Amfort,

I am sorry you remain dissatisfied with the BBC's response.

In relation to information the BBC believes to fall outside the scope of the Act, i.e. Alan Yentob's programme making charges for Imagine, your right of appeal is directly to the Information Commissioner at the contact details provided.

Regarding the remainder of the Executives, we are aware that you have requested an Internal Review. Could you please confirm what aspect/s you would like the BBC to review?

Kind regards,

Stephanie Simmonds

dangos adrannau a ddyfynnir

Dear Stephanie Simmonds,

I requested an internal review on all of it, including Alan Yentobs's roaming charges. I believe my request was quite clear, I want all of the information I requested and I want an explanation as to why it took three months to get a partial answer?! I shall certainly go to the information commissioner, as presenting mobile roaming charges as information that is covered by the BBC's exemption is both disingenuous and frankly ludicrous! But you have a chance to reconsider your stance.

Yours sincerely,

Arthur Amfort

Dear Mr Amfort,

I note your correspondence of 25 May with Stephanie Simmonds regarding
your request for information RFI20120385 and your request for an Internal
Review.

As Ms Simmonds has already stated, the BBC does not offer an Internal
Review on information it believes to fall outside the scope of the Act.
Therefore, in relation to Mr Yentob's production related expenses, your
right of appeal is directly to the Information Commissioner.  I apologise
that this was not made clear to you in the BBC's response.

Regarding the remainder of the information you sought, this appears to me
to have been disclosed in full.  The BBC acknowledges that the statutory
timeframe for compliance has been exceeded - by 15 working days - for
which we apologise.  It seems to me that there is nothing further I can
usefully provide by way of Internal Review.

Kind regards,

Simon
