Montague and Corbett Reports into the Benefits Payment Card Project
Dear Her Majesty's Treasury,
Between 1997-1999, HM Treasury was directly involved in the oversight and subsequent abandonment of the ICL Pathway Benefit Payment Card Project.
Two significant reports informed its decisions on how to progress the project through significant difficulty:
i) The Montague Report, commissioned by ministers into the project, published in July 1998, was later disclosed to the DTI Select Committee in evidence for its Eleventh Report of 1999.
Please can you release this document.
ii) A subsequent report into the project, also shared with the DTI Select Committee, was delivered by Graham Corbett of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission in October 1998.
I would be most grateful if Freedom of Information time/cost allocation permits, you could also release this document.
