Monitoring and minimising the impacts of residential garden loss.
Dear Epping Forest District Council,
1) How does Epping Forest District Council (hereafter EFDC) monitor, quantify and mitigate for the loss of habitat, associated wildlife, flood reduction, particulate capture and oxygenation when residential gardens are paved over?
2) Has EFDC conducted or participated in further research into the environmental, social and economic impacts of replacing gardens with driveways? Please provide links to/copies of the reports where available.
3) What measures does EFDC have in place to discourage the replacement of oxygenating plant life and habitat with concrete, paving slabs and similar materials?
In addition to the specific requests above please provide all relevant/related information which EFDC holds where legally permitted to do so.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Cllr Dave Plummer
