Mistakes by the Devon and Cornwall Police
Dear Devon and Cornwall Constabulary,
Thank you for recently sending me the number of non recorded complaints by Devon and Cornwall police.
When I look at the IPCC website approximately 20% of complains that Devon and Cornwall police refuse to record, when a person appeals to the Independent Police Complaints Commission that Devon and Cornwall police refused to record their complaint, the person appeal is upheld by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, and Devon and Cornwall police are instructed by the IPCC to provide the complaint with a recording decision.
I find an approximately 20% mistake rate by the standards department of Devon and Cornwall police in refusing to record a person's complaint extraordinarily high, in any business a 20% mistake rate would not be acceptable.
Can you send me the Devon and Cornwall police management plan to reduce this mistake rate if a management exists.
Yours faithfully,
G Bourke
Apologies by mistake I deleted the word ''plan'' please see my revised request.
