Military Vehicle History

Waiting for an internal review by Ministry of Defence of their handling of this request.

Charles Richer-Smith

Dear Ministry of Defence,

Please could you provide me with a complete history for the following vehicle:
Chassis Number: 911-17391-C

This vehicle has two ERM's so can you provide details for both please. I assume the second ERM may relate to an MOD engine swap but without information from yourself I do not know for sure.

Original ERM: 97RN95
Additional ERM: 38BT29

Yours faithfully,
Charles Richer-Smith

Dear DES SEC-PolSec LE-JSC-WPNS (MULTIUSER),

I tried to send this to the email in your PDF but I got a bounce back on the address:

Thank you very much for looking into the vehicle for me and very intriguing about the lack of information. I have checked the Merlin Records which does have some scant information for one of the ERM’s which places it in Rosyth but that’s all the information I could find.

I can't attach images to this message So I have written the info below. I hope that helps, if not please let me know an email address that works. I do not have an MOD Form 654 - the guy I bought it off off wasn’t particularly great at record keeping. I do, however have details for the Q plate it left the MOD on if that helps? Q788 DAJ

Cont. No. WRTR 2717
Vehicle No. 97 RN 95
Additional Vehicle No. written in paint on the VIN plate. 38 BT 29
Chassis No. 91117391C

Yours sincerely,

Charles Richer-Smith

Dear DES SEC-PolSec LE-JSC-WPNS (MULTIUSER),

You misunderstand. The vehicle is already registered with the DVLA and is on the road, licensed and taxed. I am looking for the military history of the vehicle. I don’t really understand the context of your response to be honest.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Richer-Smith

Dear Mr Richer-Smith

Thank you for your email of 29 October 2020.

Unfortunately, no records have been located and so we are unable to provide you with any information about the military history of your vehicle. We do suggest that, if you have not already done so, you try the Royal Logistics Corps Museum, who may have be able to help.

Please accept our apologies if this was not conveyed easily in our response of 29 October 2020.

Dear DES SEC-PolSec LE-JSC-WPNS (MULTIUSER),

Thank you for the clarification.

Oddly there is records for one of the ERM's on Merlin Database so would be interested to know where that has come from.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Richer-Smith
