Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service data protection Mr Lee Seddon

The request is waiting for clarification. If you are Ms Claire Seddon, please sign in to send a follow up message.

Dear Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service,

Freedom of Information Request

I am concerned that my personal information/data may have been accessed through a member of the Merseyside Fire Rescue team. I understand that before reporting my concern to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) I should give Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service the chance to deal with it.

Q1. Could Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service please try to explain whether Mr Lee Seddon a member of your fire rescue team has access to all `special' personal information of Merseyside residents relating to an identifiable, living individual. For example, this could be your name, contact details, NHS number or date of birth.

Q2. How does Merseyside Fire rescue protect the public from rights relating to decisions being made about you without human involvement?

Q3. Please explain the procedure on how Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service deals with a concern about the protection of personal information that could be accessed by its members and jeopardize any protection of the individual especially with troubled family ties and a history of domestic violence? whether it is a member may have an advantage: To disclosed information about you or has collected information for one reason and is using it for something else,

Yours faithfully,

Ms Claire Seddon

Dear Sue,

I took the direction of filing a FOI to protect the interests of the public and myself when it comes to how private data and information is secured, used which could be accessed by public service workers.

The information/data of my private life was disclosed to third parties without my permission and I am concerned that this information may have been accessed through a member of your public body closely linked and may have been disclosed to the general population especially when this information is linked to my past experience with Domestic Violence. I would like to clarify through this request whether this is possible.

This information (my personnel information) is already public and revealed, therefore I have no problem having answers to the questions publicly, my questions are;

Yours sincerely,

Ms Claire Seddon

Dear Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service's handling of my FOI request 'Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service data protection Mr Lee Seddon'.

I am concerned whether a member of the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service - Mr Lee Seddon has access to my personnel information and how public data is protected such as the date of birth, home address or other as my personnel information has been revealed to third party without my permission and it is my rights of privacy for the interest of the public to discover how. I am concerned that this information may have been revealed or used in secret to cause upset and would like to clarify this via the request.

Regards

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/m...

Yours faithfully,

Dear Freedom of Information Team,

Dear Sue,

Thank you for the response to my concern regarding the possible misuse of personnel information by Mr Lee Seddon a member of the MFRT.

Unfortunately, I still suspect my personnel data has been misused and disclosed to the third party by the member of this public body in question as an attempt to cause upset, affect my personnel relationships and cover up on issues relating to domestic violence attached to Mr Lee Seddon`s family.

I am unhappy with your response as it does not clarify the later and contacting the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for further investigations would be ideal.
I would meanwhile query if you could you clarify how MFRS investigate a claim and take action against a member of their team who’s misused personal data

Yours sincerely,

Ms Claire Seddon

Dear Sue / Freedom of Information Team,

Thank you for the response, as I said above I am not satisfied with the response and still have reasons to suspect the use of my personal information/data by one MFRT staff in question - Mr Lee Seddon and not confident the FOI request offers any reassurance to any members of the public of how public body staff/members are ethical and hold legal duty to respect members of the Merseyside communities confidentiality.

I am not prepared to condone the suffering of, or discrimination against, minorities for the benefit of the majority and so I will continue to investigate further using other methods.

It is the responsibility of staff/members including Mr Lee Seddon as MFRT representative to respect the rights to privacy and confidentiality of any identifiable member of the public, and my individuals’ rights to autonomy in relation to the disclosure of any data related to my family rights, address, personnel relationships or other.

Yours sincerely,

Ms Claire Seddon
