Dear Foi Enquiries,

I am extremely perplexed by your response and deeply concerned. The request was to the Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership who do indeed have and hold the information I requested.

The AHSCP work/ facilitate the mental health panel which manages the mental health waiting list through the partnership out to providers across the city.

The partnership does hold the information I am seeking.

Can you please review your response before I send to the Scottish Information Commissioner for review.

Yours sincerely,

Kevin Mitchell

Dear Mr Mitchell,

Thank you for your e-mail received on 13 September 2019.

We asked the relevant Service to provide more details and explain why they
do not hold the required information. They advised the ACC does not
measure the length of time it takes from initial referral to the Chief
Social Worker Officer or indeed the Mental Health Officer (MHO) to the
completion of the assessment. The MHO has to follow the legal timescales
once they start the assessment and it has to be timed within the 2 medical
reports or it’s an invalid application but ACC for sure does not start a
clock from when the initial referral is received. Therefore we do not
record a waiting list of those individuals prior to their assessments
starting. We may be able to provide the numbers of assessments which have
been started and their timescales.

We were also advised that some people may be waiting for some type of
supported accommodation but that doesn’t mean they are not currently
receiving general support with their mental health be it by Social Worker
or CPN (Community Psychiatric Nurse) or medical staff.  Please note that
if your question had been specifically highlighting waiting lists for
residential accommodation for mental health then the answer would be
different but it only stated support.  A person can be on a waiting list
for a specific service while they currently receiving support from other
means.

We hope the above clarifies our earlier response and please accept our
apologies for any confusion caused.

We will appreciate if you let us know you still want to process your
review request.

Kind regards
