Dear Hana Bednarova,

 

I write in response to your recent Freedom of Information request relating
to mental health first aid training at the University.  A copy of your
full request is attached below.

 

The information you requested is as follows:

 

1.            I would like to receive information about the number of your
full-time employees who currently have certification in mental health
first aid.

Response: the University has no full-time employees who currently have
certification in mental health first aid. The University is investigating
provision of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) licensed training for staff,
in the near future.

 

The University has a programme of mental health awareness training for
staff underway.

The following sessions were delivered in October 2019, by an MHFA England
Instructor Member:

•             Mental Health Awareness training for members of the
University’s Senior Management Group

•             Employee Mental Health Awareness training

•             Student Mental Health Awareness training

 

From Autumn 2019 to Winter 2020, our Centre for Enhancement in Learning
and Teaching (CELT), are delivering the following:

•             Wellbeing Framework staff development sessions

•             Safeguarding and Responses to Vulnerable Students sessions

 

2.            I would like to also kindly ask for the total number of
students attending your university at the moment.

Response: the University currently has 2498 students enrolled.
