Mental Health

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear South Lanarkshire College,

Under the Freedom of Information Act can you please provide me with the following information:

On a ratio of 1 per 1000 students, how many did withdraw this academic year?

How many of these students indicated they had mental health issues or required counselling support?

What was the attainment rate of students with disabilities in your institution in Academic Year 13/14; 14/15; and 15/16?

Yours faithfully,

Jim Brown

Angus Allan, South Lanarkshire College

Dear Mr Brown,
Thank you for the request for information in terms of the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
You asked about:
1. The number of students who withdrew this year.  You use the term "on a
ratio of 1 per 1000 students".  I am unclear what you mean by this latter
term and am happy to clarify further if the information below is not what
you require.
2. How many of these had mental health issues
3. The attainment rate of students with disabilities in 2013/14; 2014/15
and 2015/16.
1. The total number of student withdrawals in 2015-16 was 1044 out of 6138
enrolments.  This includes students who withdrew before receiving any
funding for the course.
2. 28 of these are recorded as having mental health issues.
3. The attainment rates of students with disabilities were as follows:
2013-14:  75%
2014-15:  81%
2015-16: 79%
The latter figure (2015-16) is the most up to date figure we have for
academic year 2015-16.  Some results are still being processed, but we do
not expect the latter statistic to change.
I hope this is the information you are looking for and I trust that this
information is helpful.
