Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Dear Mr Addison,
Thank you for your email of 19 April 2009 asking about the relationship
between the RSPB and Defra?s Bird Registration department and also the
department that deals with wildlife crime.
The Bird Registration team are part of the Wildlife and Registration
Licensing Service in the Animal Health Agency; see the website at:
([1]www.defra.gov.uk/animalhealth/CITES/birdregistration/index.htm). They
have no formal relationship with the RSPB.
Christine Rumble?s email of 30 April provided you with details about the
Wildlife Crime, Zoos and Birds Policy team. The policy advisor that works
on wildlife crime may have discussions from time to time with the RSPB
about the Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime.

Yours sincerely,

Geoff Collard
