Medway Tunnel

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Medway Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Medway Council,

The Medway Tunnel was previously funded in revenue terms by a government grant. There is a public interest in it remaining a critical piece of infrastructure and an interest in the manner in which it was purchased from the Rochester Bridge Trust.

The government subsidy of the revenue elements of the Tunnel have now run out.

Can you provide the following

I) An itemised table detailing the annual revenue and capital costs and the funding source since 2010/11.
ii) Any correspondence between Council Officers and Cabinet members on future funding of the Tunnel over the last 18 months only.
iii) Publishing of any government ministerial responses to requests for additional central government funding.

Yours faithfully,

Cllr Tristan Osborne
