The request was successful.

Dear Imperial College London,

1) For the 2015 entry cycle to medicine, what were the cut-off BMAT scores (all 3 sections) to get into Band 1 of the Imperial banding system?
2) For the 2016 entry cycle, what will the cut-off BMAT scores to get into Band 1 be?
3) What were the cut-off scores for band 2 for both the 2015 entry and 2016 entry?

Yours faithfully,

Dear Ms Murphy

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request.

Please find below the College's response to your questions.

"1) For the 2015 entry cycle to medicine, what were the cut-off BMAT scores (all 3 sections) to get into Band 1 of the Imperial banding system?"

For 2015 entry, the BMAT cut-off scores for Band 1 were as follows:
Section 1: 5.4;
Section 2: 5.4;
Section 3: 3.5 and grade B.

"2) For the 2016 entry cycle, what will the cut-off BMAT scores to get into Band 1 be?"

Please be advised that BMAT cut-off scores are calculated each year, as a result of ranked candidate BMAT scores versus number of expected interview sessions. As a result, the absolute BMAT cut-off changes each year. Since candidates for 2016 entry have yet to undertake BMAT, the threshold scores have not been determined.

"3) What were the cut-off scores for band 2 for both the 2015 entry and 2016 entry?"

For 2015 entry, the BMAT cut-off scores for Band 2 were as follows:
Section 1: 4.6;
Section 2: 4.6;
Section 3: 3.0 and grade A.

For 2016 entry, as advised above, no thresholds have yet been determined.
