MBChB Medicine and Surgery Admission Statistics

The request was partially successful.

Dear University of Liverpool,

I am writing to you regarding your MBChB Medicine and Surgery (A100) course.
Could you please provide myself with an Excel spreadsheet with the following data/information from the last 2 admission cycles:
1) A Level grades (predicted)
2) A Level grades (achieved)
3) UCAT score
4) Whether an offer was made
5) Whether they were interviewed

Could you also provide me with the average GCSE grade for Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics for those who were given an offer?
Also, what was the lowest GCSE grade combination for those who were given an interview and given an offer?

Yours faithfully,

Name:  J Singh

By email to: [FOI #665278 email]

Thank you for your email of 16 May 2020 requesting information from the
University of Liverpool.  Colleagues have provided the information
requested in the attached spreadsheet.

We are unable to provide the data by individual rows as this would relate
to an individual (even if anonymised). We believe this information is
exempt as disclosure would not comply with the principles set out in the
Data Protection Act 2018 and is therefore exempt under Section 40
(Personal Information) of the Freedom of Information Act.  Providing it
could enable the individuals involved to be identified, either now or in
the future, and these individuals would have a reasonable expectation that
their information will not be disclosed.

In the interests of transparency, we have provided data summarised by
question.

We would advise you that our full criteria is detailed on our website at
[1]https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/medicine/stu...
and there is also a full breakdown within our Liverpool Departmental
Supplement Entry 2020

This information will be updated for Entry 2021 in the coming weeks.

I am writing to you regarding your MBChB Medicine and Surgery (A100)
course. Could you please provide myself with an Excel spreadsheet with the
following data/information from the last 2 admission cycles:

A Level grades (predicted)

Our predicted A Level grades would be AAA but you are allowed to drop one
grade at predicted level.

A Level grades (achieved)

We only record A-Level grades for applicants who receive an offer and we
have provided the information that we have available at this time.

UCAT score of those where offer was made and interviewed

Please see attached spreadsheet

Could you also provide me with the average GCSE grade for Biology,
Chemistry and Mathematics for those who were given an offer? Also, what
was the lowest GCSE grade combination for those who were given an
interview and given an offer?

We do not routinely record GCSE Grades for each individual applicant on
our spreadsheet but GCSE grades are assessed as per our guidelines:

information, you have a right under Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act to ask the University to review it; however, you must do
so within 40 working days of the date of this response. Your request
should include our reference number and explain the reason for requesting
a review. Email [University of Liverpool request email] or write to the Freedom of Information
