Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

Can you please give me all recorded information to do with Manchester Pride event 2017. including all emails and minutes and notes to do with the road closer within the gay village also know as the event site in the road traffic order(s). Please include emails from and to Manchester Pride, Manchester City Council and Department For Transport.

Please also include any email, minutes and notes to the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) that have to do with Manchester Pride event 2017.

I understand that in 2015 and 2016 you told Manchester Pride and the security on the gates that lead to the event site/gay village that people without pledge band have unrestricted right of access into the event site. Can you please tell me if you will be doing the same again this year.

Yours faithfully,

Hi Alex,

I have converted the attachments to PDF files so hopefully these should open easier.

I believe the content of these attachments will answer the below question.

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

Good afternoon

Can you please clarify the statement that you made " As is previous years anyone wishing to exercise their right of way through the event site without any wrist / pledge band may do this".

As the words ( exercise their way through the event site) may suggest to members of the public on foot that they can only walk through the event site (gay village) and not stop or enter any premises within the event site.

Can you please clarify that you will be telling Manchester Pride and their security that members of the public have unrestricted right of access within the roads of the event site such as Canal street, Boom Street, Sackville Street as you did in 2015 and 2016 as the temporary Traffic Regulation Order that was granted to Manchester Pride. only gives road closer to vehicle only with the event site.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

Just an update today I have received an email from the Department For Transport and they have confirmed to me that within the gay village (Event site) known as schedule 1 in for this years road order. States that the roads within the gay village is only closed to vehicle traffic only and not pedestrians as in the past years.

Can you please state if you will be telling Manchester Pride and the security on the gates that people have unrestricted access within the streets of the gay village ( Event site) without a wrist/pledge band.

If you wish me to send you a copy of the email or the road order then please let me know.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Fox

Hi Alex,

Apologies for the delayed response, I have only just heard back from the relevant departments regarding your follow up query.

Their response was as follows

'In relation to Manchester Pride this weekend - I can confirm that any member of public will have unrestricted access on the roads within the event site as per the TTRO which only restricts vehicular traffic.'
