Manchester City Council And Exemptions From The "Bedroom Tax"
Dear Manchester City Council,
As has been publicised muslims can be exempted from the so-called "bedroom tax" by defining a spare bedroom (s) as a prayer room.
Under the Freedom Of Information Act please provide the following information:
1. Can other religions such as Christians, Jews, Sikhs, Buddhists etc. also obtain exemption from the so-called "bedroom tax" by defining their spare bedroom(s) as a prayer room(s)?
2. What religous artifacts/books need to be placed in any spare bedroom(s) to obtain exemption from the so-called "bedroom tax"?
3. How often would a spare bedroom(s)have to be used for prayer to classify it as a prayer room and therefore exempt from the so-called "bedroom tax"?
4. Would atheists be able to obtain exemption from the so-called "bedroom tax" by defining their spare bedroom(s) as a meditation or relaxation room?
5. What other uses for a spare bedroom would qualify a tenant for exemption from the so-called "bedroom tax"?
6. Are tenants with adult Children serving in the Armed Forces (but who otherwise live with their parents) exempt from the so-called "bedroom tax"?
Yours faithfully,
Sean Moran

There is no such exemption from the bedroom tax. For the use as a prayer room for any religion at all.
