Freedom Of Information,

Dear Rebecca Moody,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request on 11 November 2021, in which you requested to see information on malicious emails sent to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Please find our responses to your questions below.

1. How many malicious emails have been successfully blocked?

We aim block malicious email in two places - through our Darktrace Anitgena Email security tool, or directly through MS Defender\Exchange.

Currently, we only have access to data from Darktrace Antigena, and can only give a total amount of emails classed as 'Malicious' that has been blocked from March 2020 to 15th November 2021, which totals 25594 emails.

This figure includes blocked malicious emails to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Heritage Memorial Fund. We are unable to separate the figure.

2. What percentage of malicious emails were opened by staff? Unknown, we do not hold this information.

3. What percentage of malicious links in the emails were clicked on by staff? Unknown, we do not hold this information.

4. How many ransomware attacks were blocked by the department? If any were directed at the organisation, they have been blocked - numbers unknown.

5. How many ransomware attacks were successful? None.

I hope you find this information useful but if you do have any other questions please do let me know.
