Dear Highways England Company Limited,

I wish to make a Freedom of Information Act request in respect of the following:-

The presence of the average speed cameras throughout the length of the above project is, in my opinion a very good thing as it encourages most motorists to observe the speed limit. The additional journey time is a small penalty to pay for the safety of both the workforce and other road users.

However, I have observed on quite a few occasions, blatant ignorance of the speed limit of 50 mph.

Please could I therefore request information with regard to how many motorists have been prosecuted for exceeding the speed limit on this stretch of road?

Are the average speed cameras working, barring faults in the system, at all times?

Please could I also request information with regard to traffic numbers of vehicles from which I can determine what percentage of drivers fail to observe the speed limit and are prosecuted accordingly.

Many thanks in anticipation of your reply.

Yours sincerely

D. G. Waterman
