(c) The running costs of the fire station for each of the past five years (broken down by your budget heading if available)
(d) The number and type of incidents attended in each of the past five years
(e) Number of incidents that outside Fire & Rescue Service resources have been deployed to the island for the last five years.

I write in response to your request for information, received and

Decision
The information you have requested is held by the Devon & Somerset Fire &
Rescue Service (DSFRS).
 
Please find below the detail of the information you have requested along
with our response.
 
Request and Response

 a. Number (by rank / roles) of person assigned the fire station.

The establishment of 10 staff are all volunteers - 1 x Watch Manager, 1 x
Crew Manager, 8 x Firefighters.
 

 b. A list of all Fire & Rescue Service equipment currently deployed to
the island (including registration* / make & model of any vehicles)

 

* 1 x Landover Defender, fitted with small pump and 30 metres of hose
reel.
* Water and foam capability
* First aid bag
* 6 grass beaters
* Water bowser
* Hose 70 mm and 45mm.
* Hose Reel 30mtr with Akron branch
* Main firefighting branch
* Ground monitor
* 2 x Light Portable Pumps (LPP)
* Trailer for moving LPP and hose.
* Clark hydraulic equipment
* Training dummy

 
* Please note that in the interest of national security, we are unable to
provide vehicle registrations.
 

 c. The running costs of the fire station for each of the past five years

The costs incurred relate to training of the staff (they get paid to
attend training courses) and for incidents, but they don’t get a retainer.

Please see the attached Excel Spreadsheet:
(e)     Number of incidents that outside Fire & Rescue Service resources
have been deployed to the island for the last five years.
        For one incident a Barnstaple crew were mobilised but were stood
down before attending.
 
Review
You have the right to ask us to review this decision.  If you wish to do

Appeals
If you are still dissatisfied after a Service review you have the right to
