LTNs

The request was partially successful.

Richard Parnham

Dear South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

In recent weeks, there have been a number of filmed occurances of ambulances coming up against LTN barriers, notwitstanding the ambulance service's assurances that all of their satnavs have been updated to take account of the barriers. In some cases (i.e. in relation to East Oxford) this required them to drive around for a prolonged period of time. In other situations (i.e. Mayfair Road), crews were forced to carry their equipment down the road, leaving behind their vehicles at the barrier.

I would like to discover the extent to which these problems are being reported internally to SCAS leaders, and how these concerns are being addressed. Therefore, please send me:

a) any guidence notes sent to SCAS staff AND / or third party contracted abulance providers regarding the SCAS's advice regarding LTNs - for example, policy on keys being issued, barriers driven over, the need to ensure satnavs are up-to-date.
b) any internal schedules / audits for ensuring that satnavs are up to date, and include the LTN barrier locations in East Oxford, Cowley, Florence Park etc.
c) details of recent or planned staff forum (or equivalent - i.e. union meetings) where LTNs have / are to be been discussed - including agendas / minutes etc.
d) any internal working party notes / minutes where LTNs have / are to be been discuss.
e) any draft text on the SCAS' risk register, which addresss LTN issues.

The time period for my enquiry is 1 April 2022 to today's date.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Parnham
