Dear [email address],

foi@highwaysengland.co.uk,

Dear Laura

I would like to apologise for the delay in providing the response to your
request (FOI 3448) which was due by 29th April 2022.

The delay was caused by an unfortunate administrative error which we have
only recently been made aware of.  This concerned an out-date-email
address listed on our case management system for the Lower Thames Crossing
(LTC) project team. It meant that, not only were our communications about
your request not being received,  but nor did we (the FOI Team) receive
any automated message to alert us to the problem.

It was only when we were chasing up the LTC input a few days before the
request deadline (by contacting individual members of the LTC team) ) that
we we realised the problem.

We have now corrected the technical error, and the LTC team is processing
your request as an urgent priority.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this delay, and I thank
you for your patience while we complete your response.

Yours sincerely

Louisa Gosling

FOI Advisor

Dear [email address],

Thank you for the update on FOI 3448. However, I can see on other FOIs relating to the Lower Thames Crossing detailed on WhatDoTheyKnow that you have issued the same reason/apology since at least 20th April. This means you have been aware of the issue since at least 20th April, which is 9 days before the deadline on my FOI. Why did it take me chasing, and until 4th May for an update to be provided on this delay?

Thanks and kind regards

Laura Blake
