1.Does your council tax billing authority assign information and data to
any partnership service provider or other organisation for the purpose of
collection and enforcement of council tax.
2.Please provide a list and give the precise name and/ or company number
you have a data sharing policy with. If this is an internal partnership,
provide the name of the partnership and department within this partnership
and confirm who you share these services with and how they are authorised
and who by to process and share this data.
3. Do you give notice of this assignment to the data subject whose data

5. Please provide the precise sections of the acts, rules and regulations
that confirms payment of council tax is mandatory.

Thank you for your request for information above, which we have dealt with
under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I hope the following will answer your query:

[1. The Council Tax Billing Authority does not assign information and data
to any partnership service provider or other organisation under the terms
of the Law of Property Act 1925 Section 136 (Deed of Assignment).
2. Huntingdonshire District Council has Data Sharing Agreements with
Jacobs Enforcement Agents and Newlyn Plc for the purpose of administering
and collecting Council Tax.
3. The council’s Privacy Notice is published on it’s website –
www.huntingdonshire.gov.uk . A service specific policy is also available
on the website (see Revenues and Benefits link)
4. The question is unclear, but we assume you mean under what legal power
does the Billing Authority, and it’s collection agent, enforce payment of
Council Tax. The answer is by way of a Liability Order granted by the
Magistrates Court.
5. The Sections and Regulations, which prove that payment of Council Tax
is mandatory, are contained within The Local Government Finance Act 1992
(as amended), and The Council Tax (Administration & Enforcement)
Regulations 1992.
We aim to provide a high quality service to you and hope that you are
satisfied with this response. If you have any further questions please do
not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely
