Dear Ms Hart

Thank you for your email dated 3 August 2020.

May I at the outset apologise for the continuing delay in dealing with
your request for information. There was some initial confusion as to how
your request should be handled and by which relevant policy team. Two
policy teams within the Department have asked me to clarify with you
whether the information you require is for lost IT equipment or lost
property more generally?

Once again, I am very sorry for the delay and inconvenience caused and I
look forward to hearing from you shortly.

Kind regards

Deepak Patel

Dear FOI-ADVICE-TEAM-DFT, Deepak Patel

Thanks for your message asking us to clarify if we require lost IT equipment or lost property in general. It's only IT equipment owned by the department that we're interested in rather than items belonging to your staff.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Amanda Hart
