Loss of vehicles due to transition from DLA to PIP

Joyce Brown made this Freedom of Information request to Motability
This authority is not subject to FOI law, so is not legally obliged to respond (details).
This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Motability,

Please would you supply me with the following information;

1. The total number of Motability customers who have lost their vehicles and have had to return them due to transitioning from DLA to PIP, because they were not awarded the enhanced rate for PIP mobility that would have allowed them to keep the vehicle they were using while claiming DLA?

2. Since the introduction of PIP how many new customers annually have applied to receive a Motability vehicle as a result of a new claim for PIP (not those transitioning from DLA)? Please supply the total annual numbers since 2014.

3. Please supply the total number of vehicles annually that Motability have leased to its customers each year from 2007 until 2017.

Thank you for your time and effort in attending to my FOI request.

Yours faithfully,

Joyce Brown

Dear Ms. Brown,

Thank you for your recent email.

As you are aware, the Freedom of Information (FIO) Act provides public access to information held by public authorities. Motability is a charity and not a public authority and so an FIO request does not apply. However, the majority of the information you have requested can be found on the attached Fact Sheet which is available on motability.org.uk, in the Press and Media section.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards

Lesley Bysouth
