We have now considered your request and a copy of the information is
below. Please note that some information is exempt under section 38 of the
Act and cannot be disclosed.

 

Section 38(1)(b) (health and safety) allows a public authority to withhold
information if its release would, or would be likely to, endanger the
safety of any individual. This exemption has been applied to names of the
service providers. This is because the local authority considers it
inappropriate to release into the public domain the locations at which a
vulnerable group may be staying. On this occasion the local authority
considers it is not in the public interest to release information that
could place individuals at risk.

 

The information supplied may be used for domestic or journalistic
purposes. Its use for commercial gain including issuing to the public,
social media or computer blogs may be subject to the issue of a licence
under the Reuse of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015.

 

1.    How many Looked After Children aged 16 and 17 does the council
currently have?

 

Response: 142

 

2.    How many of these 16 and 17 year old Looked After Children are
housed in Semi-Independent Accommodation?

 

Response: 25

 

3.    Please name the providers of your Semi-Independent Accommodation and
what is the average cost to the council per child per week?

 

Response: Please refer to exemption notes above. The average cost is
£891.62 per week.
