Dear S Henry

Freedom of Information Request – Our Ref: FOI/071

Further to my email of 7 June 2021 please find below the response to your
request under the Law Society’s Freedom of Information Code of Practice
(“the Code”).

You requested the following information:

“I am carrying out a university study regarding Public Law. Can you
provide a list of Locum solicitors who work in Local Authorities?”

Please find attached a list of 103 local government bodies that have at
least one locum solicitor working for them according to our data at 7 June
2021.

The number of locums per local authority ranges from 1 to 7 with the
largest number in London boroughs.

The names of the solicitors are being withheld under paragraph 17 (l) of
the Code (copy attached). We cannot disclose personal data where data
protection legislation does not allow us to do so.

You may wish to contact those authorities directly and ask them to forward
an email to their relevant contractors who could choose to get in touch
with you if they wish.

I hope this information is of use. If you are dissatisfied with this
response, paragraphs 23 to 25 of the Code set out some information on the
options available to you.

Yours sincerely
