Dear Rebecca,

Thank you for your request of 11 December.

We are working on this to get something back to you as quickly as possible, but as you can imagine the scope is very broad and this will make it difficult for us to complete the list in the time, or without spending an inordinate amount of staff resources to deal with it. It would really help us if you could be a bit more specific about the areas of the BFI’s activity you are specifically interested in so that we can narrow the scope of the audit a bit.

Kind regards

Paul Richardson

Dear Paul,

Many thanks for your response, I absolutely appreciate your points and I also would like to avoid both a delay or an inordinate amount of staff resources being used.
In explanation - I had hoped an internal system for managing research, reports, analysis, evaluations, and assessments may exist already, and this would be straightforward. In absence of this I recognise a collation exercise would be needlessly taxing.

In turn I recognise the scope is wide and I’m happy to focus further in this case, so I’ve provided a criteria and examples below of what could be listed.

I thought a spirit of the research I’m trying to obtain would also be useful, and trust your approach in interpreting this.

The Spirit of Research

Documents that the BFI do not make a priority of releasing publicly, but do have a public and or industry interest.

My intention is to further request any significant documents that you provide on the list.
I anticipate that these documents may contain commercial sensitivities that prevents publication, so I would suggest to save time that these documents are marked.
In turn, if it is possible to publish said documents with any sensitivities removed, that should also be marked.

With reference to my original request - these documents are dated 2011 - current day.

Criteria

What I’m specifically looking for:

Research, reports, analysis, evaluations, impact assessments that;

have been undertaken by an external partner,
or
are researching the industry and sectors within,
or
are concerning public funds,
or
are evaluating BFI projects.

Examples of past/current BFI reports:
Impacts of leaving the EU on the UK’s screen sector (2017)
European funding of the UK screen sectors 2007-2020 (2017)

What I’m not looking for:

Research, reports, analysis, evaluations, impact assessments that;

Are already available on the BFI website (Insight Reports, the BFI Statistical Handbook)
or
Internal reports that are BFI functionary (HR Reports, Finance Reports, Meeting Reports)

I do hope that helps provide focus and enables a briefer collation period, please do let me know.

Kind regards
Rebecca Bryant

Hi Paul

I hope you're well?

I had expected to receive a response by 22 January 2018, could you please let me know when you are able to respond?
Or if there is any further need for clarification on this end.

King regards,

Rebecca Bryant
