Levels of rent and service charges for exempt accommodation in your local authority area

I would be most grateful if you could provide the following information in respect of providers of exempt accommodation (regardless of whether they are registered as providers of social housing with the HCA) covering the period of the last 3 financial years (i.e. 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18):

1. details of the lowest awarded eligible core rent;

2. details of the highest awarded eligible core rent;

3. details of the lowest awarded gross eligible rent (i.e. inclusive of the core rent and the eligible service charges);

4. details of the highest awarded gross eligible rent (i.e. inclusive of the core rent and the eligible service charges); and

5. details of any core rents and gross eligible rents where the claimed amount is higher than the highest awarded amounts AND has been subject to an appeal to the first-tier tribunal social entitlement chamber.

In relation to your request, Sheffield City Council cannot provide you
with any information as it is exempt under the Freedom of Information Act
– Section 12- Information where cost of compliance exceeds appropriate
limit.
 
There is no easy searchable indicator on claims which identify them as
being exempt accommodation, therefore, to collate this information would
involve a manual trawl of all claims to try and identify which are
relevant to your request, which would take us in excess of the 18 hours we
are obliged to spend collating information for a Freedom of Information
response.
 
If you have any queries about this response, please do not hesitate to
contact us.
 
If you are unhappy with the response you have received in relation to your
request, you are entitled to have this reviewed.  You can ask for an

Instead of looking for a marker on exempt accommodation claims, could you instead provide me with the details instead of the highest gross eligible rent (i.e. rent and service charges paid by housing benefit) on your system.

This should make the search much easier to perform.

2016/17 - £424.03 p/w
2017/18 - £593.89 p/w
 
These eligible rents amounts are in respect of temporary accommodation, as
defined in Section A13, sub paragraph 3 of the Housing Benefit Regulations
2006.  The information does not relate to exempt accommodation.
