SST-Information,

Dear Ms Boyd

Thank you for your Email of 22 July 2010. We are considering your request
for information under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000,
which came into force on 1 January 2005.

As a public body, the Pension Protection Fund must comply with the Freedom
of Information Act and will disclose information wherever possible.

To facilitate access to information the Pension Protection Fund has placed
its publication scheme on the website
([1]http://www.pensionprotectionfund.org.uk/... ) and
this sets out the information which we will publish as a matter of course;
however, under the Pensions Act 2004 we are specifically prohibited from
publishing certain types of information and where information requested
falls outside the publication scheme and the normal range of enquiries
received we will treat it as a Freedom of Information Act request.

The Freedom of Information Act requires that written requests for
information should be responded to within 20 business days. Wherever
possible we will respond in advance of this deadline but at the latest we
will respond to your request on 19 August 2010.

If any of the information requested is held by us but it is decided that
it is not disclosable under the Freedom of Information Act we will explain
why we have reached this conclusion (except where the Act prohibits a
public body disclosing that it holds the data requested) and will advise
you that you may appeal the decision. Appeals are heard by an Executive
Director who has not been involved in considering the initial request for
information and a response to an appeal will be provided within 20
business days of receipt. If, following such an appeal, you are still not
satisfied; you have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner
under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I trust this has been helpful.

Yours sincerely
